Welcome to my blog. This is a place for people who love to read, who want to discover new books, and who would like to receive informed recommendations about what to read next. I review contemporary literature and classics, and I give readers information about genres and authors they like, as well as help them identify new books to read.

I am a writer and a literature professor but, most of all, I am a reader. For years, I have helped readers enjoy and appreciate all kinds of books, guiding them through the difficult parts and helping them appreciate what might be relevant or interesting. Books are wonderful companions, and they allow us to learn about the world and about ourselves. But, most important of all, reading is a pleasure and I believe that books make our lives better.

The reviews on this web site are about books that I love or find worthwhile. I avoid spoilers and do not summarize entire plots. Instead, I try to instill curiosity, so that readers will want to experience a book for themselves.
